In just a few minutes, I’m sitting down with the wife and children to play Fiasco.

Have fun! Advice: pick one of the first playsets if you have never played before. There are a lot of garbage playsets out there.

We played “And To All a Good Night”. I think it went pretty well. I was Andray Johnson, respected high-school basketball coach upset about bad press regarding point shaving. I was having an affair with Regina Packer (my son Christopher), housewife from a well-to-do family who married a hard-working white collar man. Regina’s son was on my basketball team. My wife played Michelle Cartier, Regina’s sister. Michelle was unimpressed with Regina’s life choices. She was also being blackmailed by LaFawnduh Johnson (played by daughter Adrienne), Andray’s sister. Michelle stole diamonds from her high-end jewelry shop to help finance a local puppy mill/dog-fighting ring. LaFawnduh, manager of Victoria’s Secret, was the go-between, supplying thug Enrique with stolen jewelry.
By the end of the game, LaFawnduh had killed me (her brother) and a trio of dog-fighting-ring thugs. Michelle had copped a plea with the DA, implicating LaFawnduh in the blackmail and dog fighting schemes. Billy, Regina’s son, was cleared of charges in the point shaving, which he agreed to in order to help his aunt Michelle cover losses via sports gambling. Regina’s husband found letters from Andray, and left Regina. Michelle’s reputation was destroyed, and she lost her business. LaFawnduh was shanked and shivved in the exercise yard before she could testify against Mr. Big, the guy in charge of the dog-fighting/puppy mills. A TV movie, Bad Dogs: The LaFawnduh Johnson Story, was made. Andray’s name was cleared posthumously and, after a moving ceremony at the school, the Andray Johnson Memorial Equipment Locker was unveiled.
Merry Christmas!
