  1. I wonder why Hot Guys Making Out wasn’t included? That seems like the most interesting “anime-ish” RPG out there right now. Or Tenra Bansho Zero? Or Panty Explosion? Maybe they’ll get added to the bundle later…

  3. Monkey and Golden Sky stories are the two that might be worth it, all the rest seem like little niche products more aimed at fulfilling a wish to play X anime story. I’d still give em a shot or listen to an AP to see what it’s about.

  5. Ferrell Riley I actually do want to play Golden Sky Stories at some point (despite giving Dan so much guff about it). The rest? Meh.

Also, I find it a little awkward they’re calling this the “Asian” bundle. “Asian,” apparently, meaning puerile anime stuff and games about monkeys and robots.

  7. Kerry Harrison You are correct, but it has an anime aesthetic as best I can tell. That seems enough to include it in this bundle, given some of the games are about magical animals and robots.

  9. Jason Cordova Tokyo Brain Pop is the new name for Panty Explosion. MAID, Golden Sky Stories, and Clover were what sold me over though. I think it is worth it for the sheer inexpensive value of it all. Magicians sounds interesting with the mechanic involving learning Korean words. The others didn’t really shout out to me but I figured for the super cheap price I would atleast look at them at some point.

  11. I’m mildly interested in Monkey, just because there was a really cool video game a few years back that was based on the same source material.

I feel like I’ve heard good things about Maid, too.  But I sense that it might just have real strong appeal to certain niche groups that I don’t belong to.

All I will say about Golden Sky Stories is that the most recent Kickstarter update was a document describing which types of candy each animal spirit prefers.  Make of that what you will.

  13. Sean Smith That explains when I read a synopsis of Tokyo Brain Pop I thought “This sounds just like Panty Explosion.” I’m guessing they renamed it because the original is pretty damn offensive?

I don’t know…I might wait to see what gets added to the bundle.

  15. Jason Cordova Even though it isn’t a huge portion of the proceeds, I still figure that I am helping to support game designers as well as some charitable institutions so I never feel bad for throwing my money at these bundles. I totally get where you are coming from though!

  17. Daniel Lewis I guess “offensive” is not the right word. It’s definitely stupid in that “Ooh, we’re trying to be edgy” way. “Tokyo Brain Pop” is just stupid in a regular way.

  19. Jason Cordova  They added Cubicle 7’s Kuro to the mix. It was one I was curious about but didn’t want to throw down Cubicle 7 prices for. If you are remotely on the fence about this, perhaps this will sway you?
