I feel the urge to spend some money at DriveThru.

I feel the urge to spend some money at DriveThru.

I feel the urge to spend some money at DriveThru. I’m going to pick-up Twenty-Four Game Poems (recommended by Stephen Crawford ). I may pick-up something from Spes Magna to be supportive (but adapt to Dungeon World, obviously).

Any other suggestions?

  1. get Ambition & Avarice, it’s OSR, but a nice twisted take on it where everyone is neutral greedy in alignment, might give you some useful stuff for your DW Gulltown setting

  3. Jason Cordova Indie Press Revolution has the physical copy as well.  I think it comes in a jewel case with the rules as the liner notes.  Sounds really gimmicky in the best sort of way.

  5. Jason Cordova The entire main thrust of Vornheim is to help you make up little details on the fly.  Some of the stuff on the random tables might sound off-flavor for your world but I’ve found incorporating it injects a nice element of something new that spurs creativity.  There’s very little “these are details about Vornheim, the city that Zak made up” but lots of tables and methods than can be used for a city anywhere.  If you want a look at what’s it’s like, Mike Evans has done a Firefly hack and a Shadowrun hack of it.

Obviously I’m super positive on it 🙂  Also, I’ve come around to really liking everything from LotFP, even if I’m too chicken to run any of them as-is 🙂

  7. Jeff Russell Yeah, I was complaining about little details in urban settings as a justification for picking Vornheim up, which appears to help with that, as far as I can tell.

  9. Jason Cordova  Ah, I misread! I thought it was “urban adventures have too many details, Vornheim is urban, therefore I don’t want it”.

But yes, it does help with that. The random shopkeeper list alone got my group half a session of play.

  11. As a follow-up, I ended up purchasing Ribbon Drive. I think I want physical copies of Tenra Bansho Zero and Vornheim. Unfortunately, I can’t find a physical copy of Vornheim. IPR is out and I’m not sure where else to look.

  13. Jason Cordova Yeah, I bought Votnheim as a PDF before I understood its value as a physical object, and by the time I wanted to track one down, they were much harder to come by. Have you tried some of the FLGSs that are small publisher friendly and have a web presence? I found “The Dungeon Alphabet” at the Compleat Strategist when it was out of print for a bit, and I know the Good Knight was pretty LotFP friendly for Free RPG Day. Hope that helps.

  15. Daniel Lewis You know, I’m not really into anime at all. But I heard a review of the game, it sounds fun, and apparently a love for anime isn’t necessary (although I’m sure it enriches the experience).

And, I’m not opposed to anime or anything – it’s more just a matter of priorities. I have just never had enough time to dedicate to getting into it. I mean, I love Miyazaki films, and when I was younger I was into Ranma 1/2 and a few other series, but it never really carried over into my adult life.
