New Bundle of Holding just went up.  This time it’s games from the Indie Game Developers Network.  I’ll mention what I know of them.  The starter collection is games I either haven’t or have just barely heard of.  The Bonus games I’m a bit more familiar with.

There’s Misspent Youth, which I’m reading through now (and which sounds awesome; I know Daniel Lewis loves it).

I have Spark, but have yet to play.  Its setting creation is really interesting.  I’ll have to give it a try to test it out.

I’ve played Fortune’s Fool.  It runs off of tarot cards, so that tarot deck you bought wasn’t just for Hell 4 Leather and worshiping Satan.  It’s fun, but pretty fiddly; takes place in a strange historical Europe bent by orcs and dwarves and living fairy tales.

And then there’s curse the darkness and Wu Xing: The Ninja Crusade, both of which pique my interest.

Anybody know something about these games?

There’s a new Bundle of Holding that just went up, this time for Delta Green.  Delta Green is Pagan Publishing/Arc Dream’s setting of Lovecraftian madness and governmental conspiracy.  It’s more or less The X-Files meets Call of Cthulhu.  Speaking of:  it’s a supplement for Call of Cthulhu, but everything would port over to Cthulhu Dark easily enough.  (If anyone’s interested, I have some DG drifted rules I found to add to Cthulhu Dark in order to differentiate a bit better between occupations.)

The ideas are spectacular, and DG basically fixes all the non-mechanical problems I have with Call of Cthulhu.  It also tends to focus a bit more on the human element of mythos weirdness, which I like.  Hello, Christmas present to self!

Jason Cordova , here’s that contest I was talking about.  Freeform larpy games that fit these criteria:

1. Be playable from start to finish in two hours or less, by people who are not you.

2. Be playable by a variable but small number of participants, ideally a wide range like 2-8.

3. Be playable in a public space, like an open lounge in a busy hallway.

Most of them are downloadable under “Can I read any of them?”

Lulu’s having another sale.  This time it’s 25% off of any physical book, and it’s through Thursday the 13th.  Coupon code is either TWODAY25 or TWODAY14, depending on which part of the promo email you believe.

Some books I’m looking at:

Adventures on Dungeon Planet

Agon

Hollowpoint

Norwegian Style

Society of Dreamers

Spione: Story Now in Cold War Berlin

Stalker RPG

Story Games Name Project

Twenty-Four Game Poems

I’m already pretty much sold on Adventures on Dungeon Planet, the Story Games Name Project, and Society of Dreamers, but anybody have any experience with the others?

There are plenty of other games available through Lulu.  Here’s an rpggeek list that proved helpful for me:  http://rpggeek.com/geeklist/59197/lulu-rpg-items/page/1?

Apocalypse World and its progeny occupy a lot of headspace around here, especially with me.  Here’s a fairly extensive, frequently updated, and nicely organized list of AW playbooks (plus some for Monsterhearts, Dungeon World, Monster of the Week, etc.) and also of all sorts of PbtA hacks.

Wondering, “is there already an AW hack of [genre/idea/property]?”  Here’s your first stop.
