So, it would seem we have an issue with people not being able to view the Events. This is causing some people to miss some of the games we put on the calendar. We’re looking into the situation. Currently, there are 15 events upcoming on the calendar. Please speak up in the comments if you can’t see them.

Stephen Crawford turned me onto this a few months ago. I have finally gotten around to taking a look at it, and I am getting a real kick out of it. There are some really neat ideas in here. My favorite: “First Impressions,” a game in which you play fantasy adventurers at a speed-dating style dungeon-delving party hookup event.

I wanted to take a moment to highlight a few of the awesome games we have coming-up in just the first half of October.

Alan Schwing will be running Star Wars: Edge of the Empire, which I know a lot of people are interested in learning about.

Daniel Lewis will be running the post-apoc flavored Hot War.

Gary Wilson will be running Dungeon World (which is a favorite around these parts).

Stephen Crawford will be hosting a game of InSpectres (which I will be running).

Kerry Harrison will be running Fate Accelerated (with a Fudge dice giveaway for one lucky attendee).

I will be hosting Ribbon Drive for Story Game Sunday on the 13th.

We do this because we harbor a secret love for you that is so terrible and magnificent, it would destroy your fragile mind if you were to ponder it for too long. Check the Events section.

So, our Friday One-Shot calendar is taking a hiatus for November and December. It will be back in January. In the meantime, I will be running four sessions of Mouse Guard during those two months. The dates will be 11.08, 11.15, 12.06, and 12.13. Only the 11.08 game will be made into a public Event. After that, attendees of the first game will get private invites for the remaining three sessions.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Mouse Guard runs on a simplified version of Luke Crane’s Burning Wheel system. The game is superb. The setting is extremely cool, too (you play ranger mice). If you have never read the comics, you should definitely check them out.

My creative wheels are spinning like crazy with the idea of creating an AW hack for Tenra Bansho Zero.

My creative wheels are spinning like crazy with the idea of creating an AW hack for Tenra Bansho Zero. Tenra is a really cool setting (probably one of the best I’ve ever encountered) but the rules are far too complex. A modern rule system (like AW) would be nice. Rob Ferguson and Daniel Lewis , I have some initial thoughts forthcoming.
