Stumbled across this article earlier, I’m of the opinion that while reading provides you with a wider background of items & situations to choose from, the single best thing that improves GMing is being able to retailor a story to suit your player’s needs at a moment’s notice; basically being a better improv writer.
What are your thoughts?

Hillfolk is in the most recent bundle of holding. I believe we’ve played this before, but the session is not coming to mind. What’s the consensus on this system?
PC Death is always a sticky subject.
PC Death is always a sticky subject. Borimir from LOTR is brought up as an example of character death driving the plot forward, but in a group setting, death just sometimes doesn’t jive. This is especially relevant to story games, where death is either a 5 minute break while you do another playbook up, or takes you out completely from the current story.
I know it’s been covered a bit on the podcast, but what are feelings on character death, both from our game runners, and from players? Is death the easy way out, or is it a harsh enough punishment? I’m hoping to get some of our non-talkative members to respond to this one, as I’m curious for as many opinions as possible.

Are there any story games which hew to the ideas of a survival game.
Are there any story games which hew to the ideas of a survival game. I know there are some which have resource mechanics, but is there one that invokes that slightly tense stressed feel, or even a creeping sense of horror?
I’m having trouble thinking of any I’ve heard or played before.
