Codex – Moonlight is now available!

Codex – Moonlight is now available in our $4+ Patreon feed. Here is what you will find inside:

Pack of Strays: The Moonlit Road An expansion for the original Pack of Strays by Phillip Wessels that adds new locations, vehicles, and the (awesome) hunters to the mix. It is particularly cool because it focuses on loaded questions as a way of developing the story. As cool as Pack of Strays was, this makes it even better. It features a moving illustration by Jesse Ross.

moon language This is a one-player freeform game by aura belle about communicating with the moon through drawing. It is a really beautiful text-inspiring and evocative–and features an illustration by Evan Rowland that really captures the wistfulness of the piece.

Under the Gaze of Yr A supplement of moonlit mystery for Dungeon World featuring contributions by Rach Shelkey Lowell Francis Paul Edson and Kate Bullock. It also has four original illustrations by Jesse Ross.

Apocalypse by Moonlight This is a plug-in/mini-supplement for Powered by the Apocalypse Games that lets you add emergent mysteries to your story. It a really innovative bit of tech, on par with my Labyrinth Move for Dungeon World, and I can’t wait to use it in Monsterhearts 2. It was written by Oli Jeffery and features art by the talented Bill Masuku.

Gauntlet Daddies #008 Muscle Bear! We’re doing another contest for this one, so be sure to check the issue for details. Muscle Bear was drawn by Duchess of Beefcake.

Three Dozen Truths Revealed by the Light of the Moon

Cover art for Moonlight is by Claudia Cangini Line and copy editing are by Lauren McManamon. Layout is by Oli Jeffery. Developmental editing are by myself and David LaFreniere.

A growing fact of our hobby is how many people are enjoying it mostly as observers.

A growing fact of our hobby is how many people are enjoying it mostly as observers. What parts of games make it better for you as a player in streamed games? What make you more or less likely to run a system if you know you’re going to stream it? And most importantly, what do you love/hate most when watching streamed games?

This is not a thread to bash on streamers or those watching. I will moderate heavily.

It’s been a few weeks, but our group is back to the City of Mist and this time it’s my turn as the GM.

It’s been a few weeks, but our group is back to the City of Mist and this time it’s my turn as the GM. The in-character-ness of the journal felt a bit weirder this time, given Patricia was mostly not present. I should probably re-work it a bit here and there because as it currently stands it doesn’t feel as good as some of my earlier reports.

In any case, they’ve done a lot of investigating and the first level of the two countdowns has begun before the Amata and Merrit go full monster. Well, Merrit was already a killer, to be fair.

Merrit hasn’t shown up yet in the game, but that is likely coming.

Friday Dreams

We haven’t done dreams in for some time. I rolled b[2d12] and got and 8, so 8 dreams it is…

A dream to Tomer Gurantz for organizing our late-night Discord chats.

A dream to Andi Carrison for always having something super-interesting to say on those late night Discord chats.

A dream to Catherine Ramen whose game about a queer subculture in the 90s made me cry.

A dream to Fraser Simons who heroically listens to my venting and then asks if there is anything he can do to help.

A dream to Jesse Ross for helping The Between feel like a real thing.

A dream to Kate Bullock because she is in my heart.

A dream to Rob Abrazado for his amazing Gauntlet Hangouts video round-ups. Incredible!

A dream to Bryen Alperin and Ryan McNeil for diving in head first and doing the thing!

Do you have any dreams to share? Share them in the comments. They don’t have to be about ttrpg things!
