Bought my son Christopher the Marvel Heroic Roleplaying Basis Game by Margaret Weis Productions. The Cortex System the game is built around looks extremely flexible but the rules suffer from an insufficient number of useful examples of what the system looks like in actual play.

Downloaded and read “Deserting Paradise”. It looks like an interesting premise and system. Don’t know how well it would play. Unimpressed by the author’s tone-deaf use of the F-word, but otherwise the writing is evocative and clear

Some pics from last night’s game of Carolina Death Crawl. An excellent little game. There was a lot of terrific RP going on, which the game really encourages. It’s a bit bloody and harsh, but still good, nightmarish fun.

All in all, a well-executed card-based RPG. This would be a terrific last-minute substitute or spillover game, much like Fiasco (with which it shares a lot of DNA). Thanks to Kerry Harrison Rob Ferguson Kyle Wood and James Wilder .
