Doyle Tavener ran Lacuna for Story Game Sunday and we had a wonderful time with it. This game is so awesomely weird and creepy, a little snippet on this post isn’t going to do it any justice.

Thanks also to Daniel Lewis Rob Ferguson and Ferrell Riley .

Hello my fellow Gauntleteers!

Hello my fellow Gauntleteers!

Hello my fellow Gauntleteers! Pardon me for the shameless self promotion but at 4PM CDT tomorrow I will be debuting my new web-series Wolves of the North on twitch.tv. Six awesome dudes from all over the globe will get together and play some Pathfinder RPG live. Click the link and subscribe to the channel and either check us out live tomorrow or tune in later and watch the video on demand which will be available shortly after the live cast ends. We plan on playing a lot of other games in the future so if Pathfinder isn’t your thing you should still check it out. Thanks!

We had a great time with Fate Accelerated last night.

We had a great time with Fate Accelerated last night.

We had a great time with Fate Accelerated last night. We played a James Bond-style adventure. Our characters were agents of the international spy org, UNIT F, trying to stop the evil machinations of M.E.D.U.S.A..Daniel Lewis played a demolitions guy named Dirk Stone; Shadow Byrd played a sneaky type called (ahem) The Shadow; Lynn Byrd played acrobatics expert Highball; and I played the honeypot assassin, Velvet Boxx.

There were a lot of fun Aspects last night. Here are some of mine:

“I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly.”

“Garrotte wire is a girl’s best friend.”

“Arsenic and old lace, minus the old lace.”

Thanks to Kerry Harrison for running it.

We are playing Lacuna for the next Story Game Sunday.

We are playing Lacuna for the next Story Game Sunday.

We are playing Lacuna for the next Story Game Sunday. I can’t stress enough how cool this game is. Daniel Lewis ran it for the Gauntlet awhile back, and everyone had a great time.

Lacuna does a few really cool things. It’s hard to talk about them without spoiling some of the game’s surprises (it’s similar to Paranoia in that players are supposed to be a little in the dark the whole time). One of the small things I can mention, though, are the bad-ass character sheets, which are designed to look like Scantrons. For some reason, those Scantron character sheets really set the tone right away. You know you’re in for something weird and special when you start bubbling-in little circles, the whole time wondering what it all means.

Gauntleteers: I am making one spot available in our regular Tuesday group. We meet at 6:30 pm and go until about 10. We are going to give Mouse Guard a try. If the first session goes well and everyone is enjoying it, we will make it a campaign-length affair. If you’re interested, send me a message over Hangouts. Admission to the group requires approval from everyone else (Daniel Lewis, Daniel Fowler, Ferrell Riley and Rob Ferguson ). Personally, I would love to have a female player, but that’s not a hard requirement.

The Mouse Guard Box Set is probably one of the most beautiful RPG products ever produced.

The Mouse Guard Box Set is probably one of the most beautiful RPG products ever produced. As many problems as I have with the man, Luke Crane always gets production value right. I’m excited to finally get this one to the table!
