Hello! I wanted to get a quick opinion on a cursed magic item I am writing up.
It’s a Ring of Drowning. It gives a person the ability to breathe underwater if they are wearing it underwater, but if they wear it while out of water it starts filling their lungs with water. My question is, should the water in the lungs effect stop after they take the ring off or should it only stop if the curse is removed?
Planning on doing Game Chef again next week (as long as the ingredients don’t utterly baffle me).

Hey Gauntleteeers!
Hey Gauntleteeers!
Are there any folks who have experience using Discord?
BONUS – have any of you set up a Discord server before?
Let me know, I want and need to learn more about this tool!
I’ve just heard that Stewart Wieck has passed away.
I’ve just heard that Stewart Wieck has passed away. Most people, of course, will remember Stewart as the legendary game designer and co-founder of White Wolf. But in the Gauntlet, we also know Stewart as a fixture of the Houston gaming scene. Stewart was one of the original 25 members of the Gauntlet G+ group, back when it was just a way of organizing local D&D games. He was an early and passionate supporter of the Gauntlet Podcast, and has been its sponsor from the first minutes we launched our Patreon. When he purchased Asgard Games in Houston, he made sure we had a table for our f2f games, and he went out of his way to stock indie games he had heard about on our shows.
I have always been extremely flattered and humbled by the fact that Stewart was a fan of what we do here in the Gauntlet, and that much of his late-career support of indie RPG designers has been because of his association with us. Because of our relationship with his company, Nocturnal, I was aware of many of the awesome things he had in the pipeline, and now I’m sitting here extremely saddened that this good man, this visionary man, was taken from us so soon.
Just picked up Shadows of Umberto by Joe Banner.
Just picked up Shadows of Umberto by Joe Banner. He’s been producing really cool content for Dungeon World for a long time now. I really love the way all of his locations potentially connect to each other. Just reading one of his adventures can improve your game play. This one, for example, has some nifty principles you might add to the usual set. The “Names & Honorifics” section is a delightful way to add flavor. Great stuff! So great, in fact, that I immediately went and supported him on Patreon. I should have done that long ago.
Hello Gauntletters
Hello Gauntletters,
I am looking into playing tabletop games online (Hangouts, Skype, etc), but frankly the idea scares me. It sounds intimidating and I haven’t the slightest clue on how to start or where to go. I have played RPGs for about 15 years or so and this new medium makes me feel lost in an already bifercated community. Jason Cordova and friends, what do I need to know?
Hey folks!
Hey folks! I just started playing PbtA’s on the Gauntlet a few weeks ago and I’m enjoying it so much that I’ve decided to run a session of Monster of the Week for my local group! I wrote up session outline and then stuck it in an arc (just in case it catches on). The arc is centered around an ancient demon from the Jewish mystical tradition coming to smalltown Georgia in order to get pregnant and spawn a new demon prince. The first session is about the Golem the Jewish community summons to protect themselves from a neo-Nazi group…somewhat inspired by recent events in Kentucky. If anyone has any cool ideas I can stick in please let me know!
I want to run this session in about 4 hours including char gen…is that realistic? Any helpful hints you guys have for a first time MotW Keeper would be much appreciated!

Hey guys!
Hey guys! I wanted to share this with you all. Its a magic item from my personal project to bring more magic items from D&D and convert them for use with Dungeon World. The info is in the original post.

Sneak Peak!
Here is an item from the magical item list I mentioned yesterday. Its just one of the 200+ magic items I am converting from D&D for Dungeon World. The finished product will have random tables for the GMs who just like to let fate decide what magic items his/her players get. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this free sample: The Marvelous Pigments!
Marvelous Pigments; 3 uses, 1 weight
Created by a mage who was gifted in both arcane and classical art, anything you paint with them will become real. Painting a door on a wall allows you to pass through it. Painting a feast makes real, edible food. When you paint a creature, place, or object with the marvelous pigments, spend 1 use and roll:
• +1 if you have something to reference.
• +1 if you use high quality art brushes.
• +1 if you have plenty of time and don’t rush.
• +1 if you have an artistic background.
On a 10+ the painting is a masterpiece! When
it becomes real, it is as if it were the original subject in every way. On a 7-9 it looks real enough, but upon close inspection some flaws and imperfections can be seen (painted food tastes a bit off, a person may have strange
proportions, etc).
