We had a great time with Dungeon World last night. We had enough folks for two tables.

Thanks to Rob Ferguson for running the other game and to Russell Benner Scott Owen Jacob Densford Nikki Khan Andrew Schmelzle and the mysterious Steven M. for coming out!

Because I love you all so deeply (and tenderly), I do my best to find you good things from the Internet.

Because I love you all so deeply (and tenderly), I do my best to find you good things from the Internet. The Bundle of Holding this week is a very interesting one. Pendragon has been on my radar for awhile, especially since a number of my game designer ‘heroes’ are currently playing it. The bonus bundle includes the legendary Great Pendragon Campaign, which is kind of neat.

A PbtA game that just hit Kickstarter. Sounds like an amusing premise and I thought there might be some interest for it in the group. I personally love the Dresden books by Jim Butcher so I could really get off on a setting like this if done well.

Yesterday we played our first session of Annalise. I love, love, LOVE this game. It is so good. Perhaps a tiny bit more complex than most story games, but the payoff is well worth it.

I’ll have more to share about the game and our specific story once we’re finished, but for now, I want to say thanks to Jessica Scott and Aaron Scott for running the game (we had enough people for two tables). And thanks to Rob Ferguson Steve Mains Ferrell Riley and Angel Ludwig for coming out!

Rob Ferguson and I often get asked “Where do you guys find these cool games?” The Story Games Forum is a terrific place to start (I have included a link). Signing-up for membership also gets you access to the Story Game weekly newsletters, which are probably my favorite emails to receive – they are chock-full of terrific, well-curated stuff.

The real mystery? By what arcane process does Daniel Lewis find the games he’s interested in? That is some next-level shit right there.

I’ll include some other handy links in the comments. Feel free to share your own!

Along the shore the cloud waves break

Along the shore the cloud waves break

Along the shore the cloud waves break,

The twin suns sink behind the lake,

The shadows lengthen

In Carcosa.

Strange is the night where black stars rise,

And strange moons circle through the skies,

But stranger still is

Lost Carcosa.

Songs that the Hyades shall sing,

Where flap the tatters of the King,

Must die unheard in

Dim Carcosa.

Song of my soul, my voice is dead,

Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed

Shall dry and die in

Lost Carcosa.
