PBTA at a basic level could work for almost any genre, but playbooks only work in a genre with codified roles and a group dynamic. So, not every movie could be playbookified because most movies don’t follow that formula.
But which movies would suit a playbook set-up? I’ll start.
LA Confidential The Thug, The Celebrity, The Golden Boy, The Civilian.
Bridesmaids The Bride, The Old Friend, The Genial Weirdo, The Interloper
Ghostbusters The Face, The Heart, The Brain, The Workman, The Secretary
Firefly The Captain, The Pilot, The Badass, The Mechanic, The Right Hand, The Conscience, The Doctor, The Experiment
Aliens The Survivor, The Company Man, The Fool, The Leader, The Synthetic, The Kid, The Ultimate Badass, The Rookie
Your turn.
Great game of Dungeon World with David and co.
Great game of Dungeon World with David and co. last night. We started to explore the setting and get into character. Lots more vamps in need of slaying.
Hail Satan!

A story from my holiday break…
My partner & I were in Austin waiting on a table at a restaurant. I was wearing my Dungeon World t-shirt (thanks steven watkins) and this guy says “Dude, I love Dungeon World!” We chatted for a minute, and I could tell his wasn’t a casual familiarity with DW, he really knew his stuff.
At one point he goes “I listen to this awesome podcast where they use the questions of the Discern Realities move as the format of the show.”
I totally lit up and was like “I’m Jason from that show!”
He went nuts, and people started to stare at us. It was pretty awesome, haha.

Lowell Francis has me completely hyped for Gauntlet League Wrestling.
Lowell Francis has me completely hyped for Gauntlet League Wrestling. I think I’ve figured out an idea for my character’s gimmick..his name is Jeffery Bleakwood, and he’s sort of a Mankind-type character who looks like an oversized child with a burlap sack on his head. His “manager” is a haunted doll named Clarabella (Oli Jeffery).

So, are people gearing up, at all, for Epimas?
So, are people gearing up, at all, for Epimas? Seems like the spirit of the season to do some gifting and gaming. The format seems to fit somewhat with Comic Strip AP, actually.
I’ll be running some Indie Hack with my father-in-law and brother-in-law.
