Jahmal ‘Mad Jay’ Brown is a freelance game writer. He’s written the upcoming Clockwinders a World of Adventure for Fate and currently working on a Cortex Prime Spotlight setting about militarized supers.
Outside of gaming he’s a gamer dad, and runs a software company he wishes was a game studio and loves his momma, she doesn’t game…yet.

Todd Crapper (yes, you read that right) is an multiple-ENnie nominee, recipient of the 2013 Judges Spotlight Award for Killshot: The Director’s Cut, and creator of RPGs such as Killshot, ScreenPlay & the recently Kickstarted High Plains Samurai. He is the owner/lead designer of Broken Ruler Games. Currently living in the middle of nowhere over an hour outside of Ottawa, he’s also one of four co-hosts of the Ottawa Game Publishers Podcast with Jason Pitre, Mark Richardson, Joshua Kitz and Fraser Ronald. And he’s eager to talk about games, play games, smell games… ok, maybe just the first two.

Kelley Vanda will be running Heroes of the Hearth, one of the games from the award-winning Seven Wonders anthology. Heroes of the Hearth is a game where we sing of the people left behind when their loved ones go off to war. This game has one slot left! It’s a European-friendly time on Sunday at 8:00 AM Eastern
Gauntlet community stalwart Maria Rivera will be running the awesome OSR game of Godbound! The Akashic Records are a compendium of all that is, was, and will be. The Astral Princes vie for control over this massive library. You are but a servant of these divine beings. However, servitude comes with great boons…The session is Saturday at 5:00 PM Eastern.
Choe Pho: A New World of Fantasy (Sunday, 5 PM Eastern)
Choe Pho is an exciting setting for some rollicking Dungeons and Dragons 5E action. Come travel into the Plains of Marrow to help craft a new reality! The game is run by Travis Legge, the world’s designer.
Sword’s Edge: Face ‘Splosion (Saturday, 11 PM and Sunday, 8 PM Eastern)
Play badass bounty hunters in a high action space RPG inspired by games like Fate and Lady Blackbird. Character creation is quick and easy, and the game is run by the designer, Fraser Ronald.
Survival of the Able by Jacob Wood (Friday, 9 PM Eastern)
A survival horror game set in medieval Europe using a new system inspired by Fudge and Fate, run by Jacob Wood, the game’s designer! Fight the Black Death, but watch out for the zombies! This is an excellent game time for our Australian friends!
Contagion Second Edition run by Travis Legge (Friday, 6pm Eastern)
“Angels demons, gods and Hellspawn make war in the shadows. Clergy and Slayers rise from the human flock to protect their brethren and work God’s will. Magi and Witches wield powerful magics in their pursuit of enlightenment.” Travis Legge, the designer, will be running Contagion: 2nd Edition, a game based on a heavily modified OGL 3.5 ruleset. “There’s a war in the shadows. Katanas & Trenchcoats, run by Ryan Macklin (Saturday, midnight Eastern)
The man that Wil Wheaton called “one of the greatest GMs alive today,” prolific game designer and Fate guru Ryan Macklin, will be running his tribute to the gaming and pop culture of the 90s, Katanas & Trenchcoats. Relive your RPG dreams, or live nostalgia for a world you never knew!
Vanagard, run by Christopher Challice (Sunday, 1AM Eastern)
You are the animal-people familiars of the goddess Freya, at the start of the cosmology of Norse Myth. On her behalf you act as scouts, spies and diplomats. Vanagard, which uses runes and cards, will be run by its lead designer, Christopher Challice.
Into the Odd, run by Slade Stolar (Sunday, 2PM Eastern)
“The Gardens of Bastion Palace are no longer in use, partially due to their age and partially due to their inhabitants. A savvy debtor could find enough loot to pay off their debt between its leafy walls.” Slade Stolar, bridger of gulfs with his game The Indie Hack, will be running the OSR game Into the Odd. One slot left!
Rich Howard Howard is a San Diego-based nurse, writer, podcaster, and game designer, best known for his passion for aquatic settings. Rich is a former columnist for Tribality. His columns “From the Depths” and “The Gameroom” include scores of articles on gaming advice and running aquatic settings in a wide variety of genres and systems. He is the host of the DC Comics Fancast, Whelmed: The Young Justice Files, and has appeared on such industry podcasts as the Dungeon Master’s Block, Don’t Split the Podcast Presents, The RPG Academy, Tabletop Babble, Geek Wars, The Tome Show, GM’s Showcase, Party of One, She’s A Super Geek, Talking Tabletop, and others. He is currently the Concept Lead for “Descent into Midnight”, an aquatic-themed RPG using the Apocalypse engine.

I am delighted to announce Codex will be hosting a writing contest called “Keepers of the Gauntlet.”
New supporters of the Gauntlet Patreon get a fun, evocative title, such as “Keeper of the Unsolvable Riddle” or “Keeper of the Six-Tailed Dog Beasts.” For this contest you will choose one of those Keeper titles and write a Dungeon World starter or OSR scenario inspired by it or that references it in some way. Anyone can participate, Patrons and non-Patrons alike. If you’re a Patron, you do not have to use your own Keeper title for your scenario.
The deadline for submissions is October 16th at 11:59 PM EDT. The winner and runner(s)-up will be announced during Gauntlet Con.

Adam Robichaud is a professional amateur from the faraway land of Ottawa, Canada. He is also known for running the story-gaming haven New Game Plus, and appearing on a number of podcasts, and YouTube channels more famous than he from time to time. Forever a romantic, he will play any game with the promise of love in the pitch, and has been described as “a sommelier of PbtA”. I’ve got a time question for Gauntlet Con. Are the times listed Eastern? It’s been a while since I played any of the Gauntlet Hangouts and my brain is telling me those were Central time. I’m thinking of hopping into a couple games that still need players.

His designs include Edara: A Steampunk Renaissance and the upcoming Gears of Defiance, which heads to Kickstarter in February. In addition, Ryan has contributed to a wide range of product lines, such as Fragged Empire, Baby Bestiary, 7th Sea, Cold Shadows, and Star Trek Adventures.
