Our investigative librarian is joined by a chijou oni with designs on stardom.
After some adventures getting through the airport and dealing with Grace’s alcohol problems (in that an oni needs alcohol for proper function) they have interviews with an expert on psychic populations and a member of the Psyche secretarial pool.
I think this episode turned mostly into exposition and had less comedy than I wanted…oh well.
Second of three episodes for the Summer mini-campaign for Masks RPG.
Second of three episodes for the Summer mini-campaign for Masks RPG.
Kid Liberty is off doing government things with Steel Patriot but fortunately there is a new team member.
Rain, the Beacon, a young Japanese-American with skill in archery and phasing powers joins the rest of the team including:
Feral, the Bull, a daughter of two supervillains who survived their experiments on her.
Breach, the Reformed, once upon a time a lab assistant and inventor for a notorious villainous scientist and now a hero trying to make up for his past mistakes.
Brain Sucker, an alien from Venus who came to Earth to escape being made into a mindless subordinate queen in her hive mind society.
A run of the mill bank robbery ends in a bizarre tornado and the characters meet a young girl with interesting powers she’s just recently acquired.

Annnd…just realized that my next scheduled game is running Sunday evening on Gen-Con weekend…so I’m guessing it will keep a lack of players.
Note, I’m planning on running that scenario via Monster of the Week, but if people feeling Gen-Con envy want to try out my Divine Blood system, I do have some pre-gens. (Need more mundane people than I have, but I’ll try to add to that over the weekend).
In any case, the three games I ran this week went quite well.
Thank you to everybody who took part and I hope to see you next week.
Also, for those wondering, yes, the account I broadcast on is different than the one I mostly use G+ through. My youtube account predates the Google assimilation, so I have to juggle two accounts.
It took me a little bit of time to get myself going with a single player, but things went on.

The scenario was a variation of my Don’t Let the Sun Go Down scenario, the focus of which is on the rescue of Amaterasu. In this case, that was act one and the focus was on answering the questions that meeting Amaterasu and her guardian raised.
We had one player and we’re continuing this next week with a road trip to find an expert on the spontaneous appearance of psychics in families that previously had no such history.
If anybody is interested in playing next week, same time (7pm Texas time, Tuesday) please comment below. We can either create a character for you from scratch or we can modify one of the pre-gen character templates I have for this series. If you want to create a character from scratch, I would be interested in recording the process as I do not yet have a practical example of that for my youtube channel.
J.D., Daniel Fowler, Lonnie and John Campbell played the game.
We had:
The Bull – Feral (Panther), the escaped daughter of two supervillains who experiment on their children to create minions.
The Outsider – Brain Sucker (Slues), an alien from a hive mind society who fled so as to avoid the fate of becoming a hive queen.
The Protege – Kid Liberty (Aiden Wells) who is pegged to become the next Steel Patriot after the current one retires. Only who wishes he were set to be a bit of an edgier identity.
The Reformed – Breach (Riley Perez), a gadgeteer kid who used to help a major villain create items to sell to villains but who has since turned a new leaf.
Yoshi Creelman couldn’t take part this time, hopefully he’ll be able to join us for the next two weeks Masks game.
Also, due to the presence of telepathy, I had to reveal that I snuck the cast of Ranma 1/2 into the setting. The item in contention is based on a plot item from a anime addventure plot I contributed to a while back.
Tomorrow I have Divine Blood and I think I’ll make about six pre-gen psychic would-be reporters for the Bunyip Report in case anybody decides to try out my Fate-based system.
The John Bai movies. Andy Lau as the current John Bai and Michele Yeoh as M.
Psyche Programming. I hadn’t originally intended that to actually be a brand name but just the movies, TV shows and documentaries funded by Psyche (which is sort of like a combo of the Sanctuary, the FBI and a temp agency for psychics). But then realized that Psyche is one of the only secret societies with a public face. So it works.
Upright sports. Races, obstacle courses and construction challenges are more common than mock combat but the mock combat is easier to get across on a poster.
Steel Knights a wargame primarily focused around the use of uprights on the field. Adapted from a North African Alliance training wargame that was used in the 70s.
Community Theater – a slice of life urban fantasy RPG whose original purpose was to divert attention from supernaturals talking about weird things by suggesting it was related to the game. Has come increasingly under fire for being humano centric and portraying the other species in narrow-minded fashion (sidhe and lemurians are especially treated offensively). Mildly popular outside the supernatural community and still has a lot of human fans in the Community.
Family Matters – a more adventure and action oriented expansion to Community Theater which focuses on the exploits of the sorcerer families.
Precious Puppies – a surprisingly popular TV show and toy line original targeted at young girls but currently popular with a wide audience (including Hel Logesdottir, Demoness of Prisons and current high school student). Features a number of cute puppy characters based on mythological canines. Fenny (based on Fenris) is the latest addition.
Da Vinci – a video game in which players are assistants to the genius and try to simultaneously clean up after him, the original came out in the 80s for an early version of the Medici console and has been updated many times. Currently best known as a multiplayer game where players try to sabotage each other’s projects while getting their own finished.

Well, I meant to post this last night before sleep….but I apparently posted it to my circles rather than the community. Which means now that people are going to bed, probably not going to happen again…oh well.
Given the busy day yesterday with other events running, my one-shot demo didn’t happen. But I have the day off tomorrow, so if anyone is interested in an impromtu one-shot game from CST (Texas time) Sunday 10am to 2pm, I can easily put together a hangout-on-air to run the same scenario just note in the comments and I’ll keep track of if I get interest or not.
I have confirmed that I am free next Friday/Saturday.
I have confirmed that I am free next Friday/Saturday. So I’ll be putting up a quick announcement of a one-shot for this coming weekend after work today. Short notice, I know. But we’ll see.
It’ll be one of my tried and true one-shot scenarios. And since I’m in the mood for goofiness, it will be the high school festival shenanigans of A Day at the Fair. Club politics, booth building, supernatural puberty and smarmy reporters on the horizon. Will get more details later.
There are about 24 pregens for this scenario (they double as an NPC pool).
