I saw that some folks here have played The Sky-blind Spire (a wonderfully odd map and adventure by +Michael Prescott), and was wondering if I could check on a couple details before I (hopefully) run it myself with Into the Odd next weekend….

SPOILERS follow!

So … I hope someone can tell me….

(A) Am I correct in understanding that to get to room 22, you have to climb out the window from 21 and climb down a floor to the window below? And to get to 23, same deal, out the window and down a floor?

(B) Since you have to go up the changeling cone to keep your spark, is anybody who keeps their spark necessarily shrunk by 50% for the rest of the adventure?

(C) Do you suspect this is playable in a 4-hour one shot?

Any other tips are welcome too – thanks!

Jason mentioned in one episode using some kind of “CATS” thingamajig to set expectations for games, but I lost track of the episode! (Maybe “content, action, theme, subject matter”? Maybe?)

If there’s anything written about that anywhere (or if Jason feels like expanding on it), I’d love to learn more. Or if you anybody has other suggestions for resources I could read, that’d be swell too. I have had some trouble setting expectations for players (e.g., folks showing up expecting to play Urban Shadows like they play D&D, and getting frustrated as a result), and I could use some pointers. Thanks!
