Hi All

I had a go at making another Spreadsheet Adventure Module, this time to support Shane Ward’s Dusty Door module for BLUEHOLME. Below are some screen capture images, with some examples pop-up texts.

The Excel file (working copy) can be downloaded from this Dropbox folder:

I’ve experimented with ‘box-text’ pop-ups in purple, ‘monster text’ pop-ups in red and ‘DM text ‘ pop-ups in yellow (see images).

I’m keen to get this idea out into the RPG public domain – please consider sharing in da Geekhood.

For those that have seen my idea of using an Excel spreadsheet to present module information in a super compact fashion, I’ve prepared a short How-to-Guide video here:

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_MwzFeqLbw

:: How compact? ::

Basically, I’ve taken the collaborative dungeon The Halls Untoward (which spans some 50 pages and about 70 encounters), and essentially condensed it down to 1 page (or I should say 1 screen), and without losing any information.

The idea is that the Spreadsheet Adventure Module is to accompany the .pdf file or hardcopy and not to replace the module.

:: Downloads and hard copy ::

The Excel file (working copy) can be downloaded from this Dropbox folder:

The PDF file can be downloaded from here:

The hardcopy is cheap as chips from Lulu:

I’ve had an idea for a while about how to present adventure modules in a super compact fashion.

Below is a video explaining the idea. I’m sure this simple DIY implementation can be improved on.

It also surprises me that the big module producers don’t produce something similar (i.e. some sort of highly polished pdf with pop up text).

This idea might not be for you, but please share as I’m sure some geeks will like it!

:O)
