Some pics from Friday night’s one-shot of Dragon Age. Kudos to Kerry Harrison for putting up with NINE rowdy players.

Gah, I’d forgotten how long combats can take in games with 9 players.

Kerry Harrison Yeah, I probably should have pulled the trigger on a separate game in the other room, but I knew most people were there to play Dragon Age.
As for Dragon Age itself…I felt a little “meh” about it, but I don’t think the game is aimed at me.

I think I’m going to see if Jeremy Bulloch would like me to run a demo of it at 8th Dimension Comics & Games so weekend and limit the number of players to 5 as I really like the system mechanics (other than my desire to make it a partial success system like DW) and see how it plays.

Kerry Harrison I would even go so far as to limit the number of players to three. In games like that, you want to pick up the dice as much as possible and get as many opportunities as you can to do awesome things with the stunt points.

And also, there are only three classes, so it seems like the designers had three players in mind?

Jason Cordova 3 to 5 players is what the box indicates, but I remember reading a comment saying that they plan to add a 4th class to the generic AGE (Adventure Gaming Engine) version of the rules as their market research shows that most groups have 4 players.
