Every now and then, I have the idea of running a regular online game.

Every now and then, I have the idea of running a regular online game. Before the podcast, it was a difficult thing to make happen, because most of our membership was based in Houston, and the FTF Houston games were a more desirable way to spend their gaming time.

But now, because of the podcast, we have more out-of-state membership. I’d like to hear from those people specifically. If the Gauntlet organized a regular online game (say, bi-weekly) is that something you would be interested in?

  1. Yes. I would definitely be interested, and would run games as well as play. You might want to develop it as a “side-car” brand, like The Virtual Gauntlet and give it its own G+ space or something. I’m just thinking that too much entanglement could lead to negative spill over if the on-line stuff doesn’t work out. It’s a safer, more “experimental” approach.

  3. Ray Otus Good thoughts. It may or may not be apparent, but I am obsessed with execution, especially with things related to The Gauntlet. I kind of like the idea of a separate game space. Interesting.

  5. I’d love to see more stuff like Epidiah Ravachol’s #SundayAMSwords.  Weekend mornings don’t tend to have a lot of competition with other activities for me, which could make them great spots for gaming. (Especially games that run a little shorter.)

  7. So what do we call this separate Gauntlet playing community?

I would also want original art for the logo. Maybe a creative interpretation of our normal logo. I’d be willing to pay real American dollars for something like that. Maybe something by Dirk Detweiler Leichty?

  9. Jason Cordova there are no good synonyms for gauntlet… Digital Cut resistant safety gloves is worse. Id stand behind gauntlet global. Could be the hand holding a digitally rendered sphere

  11. John Bogart That just makes me think of Gauntlet Reach Around. Combined with David LaFreniere’s Cyber Fist, I feel like it’s getting a little sexy in this thread.
