Some pics from Wednesday One-Shots and Board Game Thursday. On Wednesday we played octaNe and Dungeon World. Russ has a post up about octaNe. Dungeon World was a lot of fun; David put a little twist on the classic “Level 1 characters fighting giant rats in a cave” setup.

On Thursday we began the excellent Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. Looking forward to playing it again next week.

Thanks to everyone who came out: Daniel Lewis Russell Benner David LaFreniere Daniel Fowler James Melott Scott Owen Kristen D Kerry Harrison Ferrell Riley and new guys Hunter and Ben.

  1. So the PF card game was fun eh? I was curious what a group of experienced RPG players might think of it. Have heard some criticism before that is more gateway-ish for people who have never played an RPG before.

  3. Greg Feeney I love it. I think “gateway game to RPGs” is one of those easy things for people to say without actually knowing much about it. Apart from character progression, it doesn’t play like an RPG at all. It’s just a fun cooperative card game.

  5. Nice. I had considered picking up  that or the LOTR co-op card game before but never pulled the trigger because I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy it. Might have to rethink that.
