I really want to play the Star Wars Edge of the Empire.

Because it Star Wars nuff said. Lol

At the moment, I’m apparently really enamored with games that use their mechanics to enforce character development: Ribbon Drive, Misspent Youth, and Becoming.
On that note, go sign up to play Becoming on 8/25, people!

It’s not on the calendar yet, but I’m really looking forward to trying Trails of Cthulhu.

Kerry Harrison I’m excited about that one, too. Will be interesting to see Gumshoe run by an experienced GM.

At the risk of sounding like an ass, I really like playing in my regular Friday night game, using OD&D (via S&W) as its base. Since it is extensively house-ruled, it is a bit like playing a new game whenever players start using the new content. Just a bit though, as the players still do the same things as in any other D&D game. (fighting, looting, etc.)
Other than that, I am very interested in starting up Carcosa if I can get an G+ group together. One of my out of state buddies has been promising to run a G+ DCC RPG game, which I would love to play in.
Kerry, did you ever get around to organizing that Old-School Sunday idea?

I just realized there was a terrible typo in my original post (“mostest”). Gah! How annoying!

I’m also really interested in SW: Edge of the Empire. I played a quick demo game at Fantasy Flight and really like how clean the system is. One action: one roll. It reminds me so much of the old WEG system which gave me so many fond memories. And… Star Wars.

Doyle Tavener not yet, but it’s on my to do list (Space City Con and Aethercon are kinda taking up the majority of my free time right now). A Carcosa DCC game would be awesome.

Oh yeah, I wouldn’t mind trying the new FFG Star Wars game either.

Daniel Lewis I thought you did a great job with GUMSHOE, especially given you had never run it before…I am also anxious to play all three games you mentioned, particularly Ribbon Drive and Misspent Youth. I think we may need to get one of those on the Sunday schedule.
Doyle Tavener I have almost no intention of ever running it, but I LOVE the DCC RPG book. I flip through that thing at least once or twice a week. It gets me pumped-up to run fantasy games, haha. The art is so terrific!
Kerry Harrison We need to get Trails and a Star Wars one-shot on the calendar somehow.

Jason Cordova I’d definitely do Ribbon Drive on a Sunday.
Unfortunately, I don’t think Misspent Youth really works as a one-shot. It’s designed to play out like a season of a TV show with each session being an episode in the overall story arc.

Daniel Lewis Well, the Sunday games can be spread over multiple sessions. That calendar is not necessarily one-shots like the Friday calendar is (My Life With Master, for example, is two sessions). From what you know of the game, is it the sort of thing people could drop-in and drop-out of from week to week (like InSpectres)?

Jason Cordova I don’t know for sure, but I suspect it would suffer pretty badly if you didn’t have the same players each session.
The primary focus is on how the characters change as they grow up and inevitably sell out their convictions. You might be able to add or drop a player here or there, but I think the majority of the characters need to be the same each session for it to work.

The new Vampire: the Masquerade MET is being released later this year by By Night Studios. They just ended their Kickstarter campaign for it successfully back on July 9th and I’m really looking forward to see the changes they’ve made to it.
