  5. On a less smart aleck note, that’s an interesting question. Would the mermaid have to surface and transform and then get back to the water before returning to her natural form? Would she transform into a crazy water wolf? Why hasn’t this been addressed by the scientific community?!!

    Thinking about it makes me want to develop some new monsters…

  17. Jonathan Fearn Badillo Made me shudder. I remember one time, after I ducked under a wave, I came up face to face with a sea lion. It was only a couple feet away from me and probably twice my bulk. It plunged under and I swam-body-surfed out of there in a panic! They aren’t typically aggressive toward people but can be. I’m sure if it wanted to harm me, no amount of flail-swim-gliding would have prevented that.

  27. Most of the month, the mermaid would be unremarkable. During the full moon, even if they don’t see the moon, the mermaid would convert to a dog-fish-man. Not to be confused with a man-bear-pig.
