  1. Hi Jason Cordova. How do I sign up for an online DW or other PBTA game you’re running? I think it would help me better how people run prep-light games.

  3. Thank you for discussing the philosophy behind Logan Stormbreaker. I loved the take you took on the question. I found it interesting how “exploratory” this segment was.

Often RPG discussions are about re-phrasing and refining arguments but this seemed to a good part entering less developed territory – player philosophy.

It’s complex territory since it has many input parameters: what is the game’s agenda, what role do the other players have in relationship to each other.

It would be interesting to write a DW narrative driven analogue to the World of Warcraft roles (tank, healer, damage dealer etc). Like: story driver, internal tension creator, comic relief etc. and then play REALLY strict towards these roles (although they can change in a session)

  5. Gerrit Reininghaus Yeah, I have mixed feelings about that segment, even right after we recorded it. Normally we always know precisely what we want to say in that segment, but this episode it was definitely looser, like we were trying to develop a line of thought.

  7. Jason Cordova and David LaFreniere I have no idea what there would be to have mixed feelings about! Part of the thing that makes DR my favorite podcast is the way you shift back and forth between bits of insight and careful thought and an easy conversation. As a listener, it feels like hanging out with a couple friends who have been doing some deep thinking lately!

  9. Woo! Congrats Danny and Logan!

I too enjoyed the player section of the podcast. Not all thoughts have to be completely nailed down prior to recording. I for one enjoy hearing you two arrive at an answer rather than have one straight out.

Gerrit Reininghaus, are you familiar with Comedia Del Arte? It’s prescribed roles and characters could provide an interesting place to build such a concept.

  11. I’ve been thinking more about this idea of players taking on a particular storytelling archetypes. Would a list of suggested flags based on Commedia/ Carl Jung archetypes be useful?
