  1. Star: Oh man, Lady Blackbird Flight of the Owl 3. Y’all. I loved that game. I did so little, the players drove so much of it, but it was because of what we built. Like, we made a table culture. I’ve been incredibly clear with what I wanted from players, and how I wanted play to unfold. And to see them take it and run with it when I was not at my best was so heartwarming. Because this is a Self-Star it’s about how having a clear idea for table culture really made the difference for our game. But in reality Tomer Gurantz Ary Ramsey Ellen Saxon Lu Quade Stephen Humphreys can share this star with me.

    Wish: I’m doing a Drawing the Owl on move structure and move writing, which means I really have to have to come up with some actual moves. On camera. In front of people. I want to get acceptable ones done. I’m better at fixing then I am at creating. I want just like, 5-6 basic moves that I can fiddle with for a bit.

  5. Im working on something for DW to facilitate open table play for the Hangouts Gauntlet format of games. Its been a very long time since I actually worked on a creative project.

    Im also cutting my hair today. Ive always dreamed of having long hair. Ive been growing it for 2 years now and its at the shoulders now. I can finally check that bucket list box.

    Im searching for a new job and a “clean” look will probably help…plus less time in the shower! 😁

  9. Star: Okay, saying I was gonna run a game AND finish a playtest draft was overly ambitious. But! I did run a game, and it was fun, and when other unexpected obstacles appeared, I handled them.

    Wish: Clear out our “back room” enough so that there’s a chair I can sit in for Gauntlet Hangouts somewhere in this apartment!

    Wish: Figure out how to get more advance printing options on my Linux install. Not having 2-up printing for rules references is annoying.

  13. Star: Ran It’s Not My Future! Always fun to wing in it with FAE and sci-fi. Gearing up for an Amber Diceless play by forum game. Work on 3d models for a couple of papercraft projects is going nicely (a Traveller scout ship with 3D decks and an Ogre cybertank.)

    Wish: Get session zero of Amber done.

    Wish: I’ll be in AZ the next couple weeks so hoping to find more IPR shops. Also wrap my head around blades.

  17. Star: I’ve been really enjoying participating in the #AprilTTRPGMaker “game.” The reflective writing has been very pleasing.

    Wish: Closing out my Kickstarter officially. (A few people didn’t give us their addresses so our deliveries to them are taking a little while, but I still consider it done.) Just need to check with my shipping guy.

    Wish: HOWEVER, The Between is going to piss off some PbtA purists. It discards so much PbtA thinking in favor of what I know to be true from running lots of PbtA games. My hope is that I can get over that perceptions hurdle, because it does make me want to not actually release it.

  25. Star: Last night in a Trail of Cthulhu home game, I may have accidentally brought about the end of the world. It was one of those fun story moments that made me feel personal horror in ways the genre was meant to!

    Wish: I run two home games next week. My wish is boring: I want to shift so I’m only running one of them each week! I need to get the other GM to run 2 in a row to make it happen.

    Wishes: Finish up a couple freelance projects and get the Queen City Conquest Kickstarter over 5k dollars.

  33. Star: just capped off my first season of Night Witches. It was a massive emotional labor, but I think running it the way I did definately paid off.

    Wish: in a little more than a week I should be running my first alpha playtest of You, Me, and the Zombie. It’s far enough away from established pbta that I can’t predict how people will interact with it.

  35. Star: I did a lot this last week. I guess I’m most proud of getting work on my Macchiato Monsters module off the ground. I’m glad to be in the actual writing phase.

    Wish: My wish for this week is that I can figure out how to be honest with the fiction in GMing Blades when it’s telling me that I should make the hardest moves I possibly can.
