This was great! Exceptional advice and so clearly given. Good job, guys! I would like to hit on something you guys went over. I personally believe that pregame care is just as important as after game . I wholeheartedly agree that putting out play aids and game info a few days to a week ahead is so helpful. As a player, it reminds me I have the game coming up and I become excited for it. As a GM, it means that I have all the relevant information already in my player’s hands. I don’t expect players to do homework or have a character already made(though that is lovely), but I do know that when we are starting a session they already have this accessible. I know some others differ in this, but for me a Google Event is a GM’s best friend in running limited session online games.
Lowell(and Rich), thank you so much for putting up this excellent advice! Having such amazing Senior Statesmen for our community, and RPG’ing in general, is truly wonderful.
