Reminds me of Volo’s Guides for D&D, which I adore. Does anyone else know of other publications like this? I don’t know what category they fit into, but I love them.

Yochai Gal Van Richten’s Monster Hunter Compendiums for AD&D Ravenloft where written from first perspective, and even annotated by Van Richten’s nieces since these where collected and published posthumously. (and collected earlier single monster guides IRL).
Great books and really inspiring for other games as well, since it’s a lot of prose and less focused on stats.
