One of my player’s druids died and some others are about to go on a quest to resurrect him. I’m looking to create three choices for the returning player. The first is to lose his memory of all animal forms, including his default animals. the second is to sacrifice one of the other players or a trusted NPC, at the risk of losing 4 points in Charisma, and a physical mark that identifies him as a traitor that impacts all Charisma rolls of those in his party. I need a third. I was thinking of some rewritten alignment or a move; I remember seeing a semi-debilitating compendium class, but could use some advice. Thanks

New ‘tell’ a miasma of undeath, all natural animals hate and fear him while the dead whisper to him incessantly?

Ooo, nice. I like that it doesn’t have to change the mechanics, but lives in the fiction. I thought about him losing his ability to speak with animals, and this may be a way of justifying that—he can’t speak to them because they’re terrified.

Could also read some sinister new meaning to “Sustained by nature” though i guess that could have meant hunting and killing all along.

Daniel Fowler Absolutely! I remember reading about a compendium class that required some kind of blood sacrifice tied to hunger; and I started drafting something that would require the druid to perform ritual sacrifices, but I haven’t been playing long enough (only a month now) to know if that’s appropriate. Also, the way I wrote it seemed out of balance with the other choices.

Why have them sacrifice a PC or an NPC? I would have the costs all be personal to the druid.

Maybe they have to build him a new body from the flora and fauna of his home terrain. New permanent CHA mod- horrifying.
