  1. I feel it has the best system for creation. It mechanizes backstory with abilities and spells by having you answer narrative questions. It also has you populate the world with NPC’s and locations based on your answers.

The system though is pretty much a trade D20 with some tweaks. Nothing impressive

The GM packs are really good and you can spend about 5 minutes before playing and totally be ready to jam.

    After DW itsmy fave system.

  3. I think it’s an enjoyable game on its own, even if it’s not breaking new mechanical ground. The light version of d20 rules makes it familiar to trad players, but the bennies add enough player control to keep the tone on track. Even if you prefer a different system, the playbooks and scenario packs are fantastic tools for a lot of games.

  5. I’m a big fan, I ran out for the sessions and plan to go back to it at some point.

The character generation and connected village generation are very cool. The system is basic but runs well. Magic fixes a few of the issues that I have with classic D&D spells by adding in cantrips and rituals. It’s all good.

  7. Part of the richness of those characters, Christo Meid, IMO, came from the really cool character creation process the game has, and is mentioned by others the previous comments above.

  9. Could you separate out the chargen to use in another game (like D&D 5e?) I find the 10 or so backgrounds in 5e to be ok, but would like more options for players.
