Codex – Love
Codex – Love is now available via our Patreon! I wanted to talk about some of the features you will find inside…
Stops Along the Journey of the Owl is a supplement for Lady Blackbird written by our own Richard Rogers, who is a huge fan of the game. Rich discusses a neat rules tweak he has implemented into his own Lady Blackbird games, and has provided a number of impressions, plot hooks, and Keys for locations on the map, including one entirely of his own creation, the mining community of Lostrock! It has two pieces of beautiful art by Nery Mejicano, and is overall a pretty terrific piece for people who are interested in doing Lady Blackbird as a campaign.
Temor, God of Love & Pestilence is a Dungeon World piece by Fred Bednarski, although most of its elements would work well in any fantasy game. It’s a collection of moves, items, and spells inspired by Temor, a god that created sickness and disease, but who also invented love, the most insidious infection of them all. The elements in this piece are not organized around any particular starter or adventure; they are simply a collection of really cool things to sprinkle into your own games, as needed. The piece features a lovely illustration by Per Folmer (see below).
Bogville by Ray Otus is a dungeon starter for DW involving a community of peace-loving, hippy-dippy frogfolk. It contains a number of questions, impressions, moves, items and NPCs for a session or scenario that is a little more…laid back, we’ll say. It’s a low-conflict, socially-oriented setup, and I think it’s super cool. But that’s not to say there isn’t any danger; the residents of Bogville have their own sets of goals, and those things might involve the party…staying awhile. The piece contains two fun illustrations by Sean Poppe.
Finally, our Miscellany for this issue is Three Dozen Fantastic Places to Take a Date!
To get Codex – Love, just make a $4 pledge on our Patreon. You’ll not only be supporting the zine, but everything we do in the Gauntlet, including our podcasts.

I’ve got loads of people to add for next time, too. This month a few people, like Gerrit Reininghaus, pledged just after we went to layout.

This Bogville sounds like a might fine place, Ray Otus. I shall have to make a visit.
