  1. It is so ridiculously surreal hearing the name of my game on the podcast that I’ve been listening to for 79 episodes!

Actually choked on my coffee when The Final Girl was mentioned.

Jason, it was fantastic and fun to meet you as well! I was really psyched when I saw that you were going to be at Metatopia and even more thrilled to have you at the table!

Definitely going to be aiming towards getting things fixed up, cleaned, and tested more in the near future!

  3. So looking forward to Pasi贸n de Pasi贸nes, such a great and creative concept. I would play the heck out of that!

Five fires was so fun, character creation was pretty in-depth so we didn’t get to play as much but I really really really dig the mechanics and system there. I am also really interested in hip-hop both historically as well as listening to it for pleasure and it’s so awesome. The mechanics for doing your fire is all very interesting and can’t wait to do it. You select multiple pictures for a lot of them in an effort to get what you want across but it can misconstrued by others or be seen as progressive. I totally recommend everyone check it out because it is exciting just to read up on it!

I really enjoyed Wip, there’s a lot to keep track of with it but I love the payout and the freedom it lets you have. I had a lot of fun and thought it was great and I may not have joined if I had known Lowell was a bit nervous because of that, I hadn’t even considered that when I first joined up, was just excited to play haha! Sorry I increased he pressure there on you!!

Kate is one of my most favorite people ever, I actually found out about her blog before Go Make Me a Sandwich even. When the kickstarter for The Veil was going, she reached out and the game is really all the better for it. Since then I’ve learned and grown a lot due to her being an influence in my life as well as her blog. It’s really really great as is she.

  5. I’m strongly considering just putting Pasi贸n de los Pasi贸nes on the schedule during a time I know I’m free and seeing what happens, though there are enough Big Issues that I need to work out before additional playtesting would be helpful (role of the GM, level of rule complexity, half the freaking audience reactions)

  7. Here’s the stuff I remembered from the episode, let me know if I missed anything or if anyone has any questions 馃檪

    Hordes/Mooks/Minions

These have a size rating and a factor; If a mook/horde has a size rating of 5, then when the players do Take Down they reduce the size rating by 1 (not individual mooks, if that makes sense). So if the size rating was 5, the size would go down to 4, and whatever the factor is is how many mooks the PC would narrate taking out. So, if like on the example on page 183 the Size of the Horde was 5 at a factor of 10, then if they chose to reduce the size of a mob by 1, their Size goes down from 5 to 4, and they would have taken out 10 mooks in the doing. Size is there for you to keep track of them like a Condition Threshold (Plot Armour), whereas the factor is there so you and the PC knows how many they’re taking out each time they reduce the Size and can describe doing so in fine cinematic fashion.

    Conditions

You’ll often find that, at least usually, each “turn” the player gets, they inflict one Condition on an enemy even when being a bit reserved. Their Condition Threshold is their Plot Armour in the story. For recurring villains and such, it’s ok to have them pull out once and reappear later – fights need not continue until they’re taken out as in comics their usually will be several fights before their place in the story is done. Fights should only go on so long as they are fun regardless.

Don’t overthink when Conditions shouldn’t affect antagonists – that’s just there for obvious stuff; if someone tries to take out the Human Torch by shooting a fireball at him, he’s probably not taking a Condition (unless it’s an emotional/psychological one like getting angry or cocky).

  9. Kyle Simons Want to add to what Kyle said because I think that was the EiC’s biggest disappointment. On page 183, you do not have to fight mooks 1v1. They scale similar-ish to fighting gangs in AW.

For conditions, just think of the -1 or +1 they give you and how they can evolve/devolve. No real different than debilities in DW.
