Been marathoning episodes this last week during work since I started GMing DW and AW again faster a year broke (new baby.)
While doing so, I listened to the old teller episode hearing similar complaints I have always had, while also hearing episodes of DR where you guys talk about both Funnel World and Class Warfare. Can the systems give you a game where you can start as a nobody peasant that instead of leveling, you gain moves based on your actions every time you camp/finish mission?
I do this with Raw DW. Its great for one-shots where the players can get a feel of the class in one 4hr session.
Each time you answer an end of session question, or hit an alignment, you pick a new move from your class

I want to go entirely class less, I know as a human being I am a pretty diverse individual so want to open up for those that want tinge jack of all trades or those that want to specialize …. all by their actions. Thinking of group deciding from a panel what you focused on ( strong melee vs fast Melee)

You can use classwarfare, open all the classes as possible move choices, or make custome moves as players make character decisions. That would be allot of Compendium classes, but definitely fun.

See Burning Wheel’s trait vote for a possible approach.
