Great episode! (I can say that, because I’m not on this one.) I’m really intrigued by this idea of the O card. I have often thought we don’t spend enough time telling people when they do something really well. Roses & Thorns can be complicated, because some people don’t take the “thorns” part of it very well, so I wonder if the O card (or some other sort of fanmail-style device) is the answer. I really like that it is affirmative, too. The X card has been an interesting development in indie gaming, and probably an important one, but something about its basic negative posture has always bugged me. I like the idea of there also being something at the table that helps celebrate good play.

I might just make some nice cards for this. One with a rose, the other a thorn.

Kira Magrann was the one who brought the O card to my attention a while back. It’s such a brilliant idea. I love that it adds some encouragement to things you find captivating so they don’t go under the radar.

I think I’ve heard of this Yellow King, I believe he shattered my characters mind in Tremulus! Hah!
Sweet episode! I read all my comics online as well, and especially Marvel comics because for the last couple years if you buy the physical issue you get a digital code as well. I also get issues when they’re on sale and what not, love Comixology.
Mr Robot is fantastic, people said they didn’t like season 2 as much but I thought it was still really strong and great.

Marvel Unlimited is great—I’ve been catching up on their new Star Wars comics and also reading some classic stuff—but I really wish they’d address the issue with their panel view mode. With anything made before Marvel began releasing digital comics at the same time as the print versions, they are often formatted improperly resulting in text being cut off or images not being framed correctly. Since I have a smaller tablet, I really prefer panel view mode, but unfortunately, I have to switch to full page mode, zoom, and scroll. (First-world problem, I know.)
I really need to play a game of Call of Cthulhu as run by an experienced keeper. The only experience I’ve had with the game is running the 7th edition starter adventure about a year ago. I didn’t really care for it because I found the system to be kind of dull and flavorless. In my opinion, the only thing that seemed to reinforce the setting/tone was the sanity mechanic. (It’s kind of apparent that it was built using a generic system instead of something made from the ground up to reflect the subject matter.) That said, I suppose it could be like Lamentations of the Flame Princess wherein its really up to the GM to properly implement things and make the players feel like they’re in a Lovecraftian setting.

One other thing that didn’t thrill me about CoC—and I understand that it’s kind of ridiculous—is the fact that I have a prejudice against roll-low resolution mechanics. While I can go along with it for the duration of the game, higher numbers being worse than low numbers is just an odd adjustment for me to make.
