Thanks for the kind words bout S&S! http://www.jellysaw.com/rpg/ss.html
I have run the game lots and I still love it. It’s a good one-shot or 2-3 session alternative to Dungeon World if you are having trouble getting your mind around moves and such. As it is a skin (a.k.a. “rip off”) of John Harper’s excellent Lasers & Feelings, I can tell you that it is, in turn, easy to skin to suit other settings that you might want to model. For instance, a cool Cyberpunk one might have the poles Virtual and Analog for the dice. 🙂

I just wish we could record the sessions themselves. (We play while in the car or on public transport.) The two sessions after that one have been really epic and creative. And he keeps throwing me off with his surprising and clever approaches.

Ray Otus Did you happen to recognize where the fanfare came from? I did immediately.

Ah! That explains it; I basically don’t play video games. Though I sometimes watch my kids play them. That’s funny/cool. What I like about it is that it illustrates Wind subconsciously doing the same thing I’m consciously doing when I watch my sons play — building a roleplaying games “vocabulary.”

I noticed that, too, Jason Cordova. I giggled like a doofus.
