  1. Andrew Medeiros I’d be curious to hear a bit more about the extent of what’s involved in The Woodlands: how many playbooks, rules? flavor? Sounds right up my alley though: love Redwall / Mouse Guard, but not ready to delve into BW-ish.

  3. For people interested in running Hangouts games, any suggestions whether they should try to nail down a time with a group of people before-hand or just throw something up and see who bites?

  5. Brandon Leon-Gambetta Getting in touch with me first (Hangouts chat is fine) is probably the best bet. Certain days/times and types of games are going to be more popular, and we can discuss that stuff. There are also a few best practices when making events on the Meetup.

  7. I am thoroughly enjoying the whole family of Gauntlet podcasts and applaud the success of the community. At Jason Cordova’s mention of the 200+ games run in the past year, I scratched my head and wondered how many different players were involved in these sessions?

While I look forward to my first foray into DW over Hangouts and really hope it will be with the Gauntleteers, as a professional and a dad with a newborn, signing up quickly or being waitlisted on the Meetup just aren’t options for me right now.

So, if I might boldly propose something to an already brilliantly run community: tracking.

Over at Paizo, there’s a great PbP system whereby the community self-tracks signups. Basically, players put their name in a google spreadsheet and also track which games they’ve played in. GMs tick down the list of interested players when recruiting with an eye to spreading out opportunities.

Just a thought; I wonder how many of us newbies are in the wings or slow to pull the trigger.

  9. Matthew G. That’s an interesting idea. I’m always thinking about ways to increase participation on Gauntlet Hangouts (to say nothing of the numerous FtF games that get organized with us).
