I’m putting the same warning here that I put on Gauntlet Hangouts: G+ is not sending email notifications of new events right now. I put up several events today, but you may not have been notified. To be safe, go to the Gauntlet Hangouts community and check the Events section.

With the new version of G+ there doesn’t appear to be an Events section anymore.

Kerry Harrison That is true. You have to be in old G+.

That kinda sucks, makes me wonder if Google is planning to get rid of the Events feature?

Kerry Harrison I think it’s probably not long for the world. I need for it to work long enough to figure out a different solution. The problem is no service has everything we need in terms of calendar, notifications, RSVP management, etc. G+ doesn’t even have all that stuff, but it was at least in the same location as the Community.

Meetup would be a good solution, especially since we technically pay for three Meetup sites, but it’s so geared for local organizing. It would be tricky to use it for a Community that is dispersed throughout the world.

Yeah, Meetup actually used to have a version of their service that was geared to national/international meetups but they killed it off years ago.
