  1. Emily Care Boss  Ah! That’s what I forgot to do! I didn’t realize until we were in the middle of the recording that I had forgotten to look up who wrote it (also Sean Dunstan ). Oh man, the Beginner’s Guide is so good. I think anyone transitioning to PbtA (not just DW) should read it.

  3. That’s good advice.  I was reading Apocalypse World (harvesting mechanics and also looking to run a game), and it was a bit thick at places.  Maybe it’s because the setting isn’t something I’m accustomed to playing, or maybe it’s because I was reading it without enough sleep.

I’ll give Dungeon World Guide for Beginners a look-see.

  5. Great episode and I can’t wait for Epimas now. If I were you, Jason, I’d make sure Rich doesn’t see any Star Wars film before Episode VII and use him as a test subject to see how well the film works for people new to the franchise.

Also Shotgun Diaries is good fun, makes artefacts in the diaries of the characters. Just to horribly shill my words here’s an example game I played of it: http://www.whodaresrolls.com/rpgs/the-shotgun-diaries/

  7. John Wick games for president 2016! I’d love to hear more about games on the periphery of current discussion! On Sweet Agatha : I photocopied all the pages to cut out the clues, only to decide that I’d probably never play it again after that first time.

  9. Daniel Lewis , Scott and I are big British Bake Off fans…don’t’ think the american version can live up to the charm, good will, and cinematography.  Here’s a fun game if you choose to watch another season; Great British Bake Off Drinking Game!  Every time they cut away from the tent to a sheep in the field, a close up of a flower, or dew on a leaf take a drink … you’ll be toasted in no time!!! Or if you are me, gummy bears instead of drinks 😛

  11. I literally just finished watching season 6 last night!  Now I don’t know what to do next.  Do I start on season 1 or work backward from season 4?  Do I watch the Australian version?  I did try watching the American version and didn’t make it though the first challenge.  I don’t want to see people make cookies that look like Santa Claus; I want to see exotic amalgamations of jelly, sponge, & crème pât that make me question everything I’ve ever known about food and/or life.

  13. I can discuss some of what is in Jason Morningstar’s hack, AW: Furiosia, as well as what is from Paul Taliesin,  and what is from me–I ran it for Steve Mains.

I loved the AW hack, the alternate harm rules, and everything about this.  I found several nice articles (like this one: http://tinyurl.com/jhxj8fn), and watched the movie looking for quotes and plot hooks.

With Jason’s kind permission, here is a link to the AW hack (http://tinyurl.com/ouuvqea).  Please be nice with the bandwidth.

First, Morningstar’s hack suggests that everything is action, action, action!  If you can do it while driving, DRIVE!

Every PC is a driver, and can take driver moves.

    Be Brutal!

He also suggests using Paul Taliesin’s Harm Moves, as they are intense and brutal.  It changes the way armor is used, but it works pretty well for this setting.  I like these a lot.

Finally, the part about everyone gets an advance and a debility and a car, I made up.  Since I was running a one shot, I wanted to get everyone into the middle of the action quickly, and feel like the movie.

All the warboys are sick, Furiosia is missing an arm, Max has PTSD,…  Everyone is messed up, and awesome.  🙂
