I wanted to take the pulse of the group on something:
What is exciting you in roleplaying games right now? A particular game or movement? Maybe the work of a certain designer? A podcast or blog? An artist, perhaps?
In other words, what in gaming is giving you life at the moment?
Nearly anything by John Harper. Also nanogames like what came out of the 200 Word RPG challenge

For me, incidentally, it’s Worlds without Master.

For me it’s getting a semi regular game group going and an online game too. The imminent arrival of World’s in Peril and Urban shadows and the start of the undying kickstarter. Oh and the monster alphabet. Loving Patreon although yet to take the plunge there are some really talented people on there (Dyson Logos for starters) . Podcast wise you guys of course and another question with Sage..

I kid you not, as soon as I read your second sentence I wanted to rephrase it as “What is giving you life?”

OSR/DIY D&D movement and slightly related, somehow turning one or more of the Planeswalker Guilds from MtG into a campaign setting. These things are great. Already have 4-5 lines written on the setting, major NPCs, factions, cites, and beasts. You really don’t need too much more.

Eadwin Tomlinson You are a brave man. I get a hankering to do just that every now and then (that book is so beautiful!) but then I always talk myself out of it.

GMing A Red & Pleasant Land, and being excited to plan a weekend game for my distant friends. I’m torn between staying with DW, or introducing them to Spirit of ’77

Night Witches is exciting the shit out of me right now. Can’t wait to run it. Oh and playing in the Torchbearer game run by Eadwin Tomlinson next week 😉 No pressure mate.
Draughts – Board Game Café, in east London is giving me shed loads of life. Going to try and convince the people who work there to play Fiasco.

Isa Wills I know – for some reason I have real difficulty retaining the rules – I think once we start it’ll fall apart or into place!

I’ve tried to run games all over my state with limited success and getting little in return for the effort put in. I have found a gaming group with 3 other guys that are roughly the same age, same family situation, and same desire for game content. We also have a very similar outlook when it comes to getting what we want out of games. We have been playing regularly for 3 months, and it is great. So having a good gaming group with similar values is giving me life.

As much as running D&D has been entertaining, I have worried that it’s making my group backslide, behaviour-wise. There have been some great moments in it. The group are currently in a keep with one way out which they set on fire.
In a gap week we played Souls of Steel and for the next fortnight we are doing SCUP. So I guess Apocalypse World hacks and my players’ messed up behaviour are giving me life.
