Hillfolk is in the most recent bundle of holding. I believe we’ve played this before, but the session is not coming to mind. What’s the consensus on this system?

Played two sessions which I quite enjoyed. The setup is like advanced Fiasco: it seeds the relationships with needs towards one another. The in game mechanics however felt over convoluted. I didn’t feel that they contributed to the outcome of the story. Everything was set up in character creation.

We have not actually played this one yet. It was on the calendar a couple of times but got switched to something else in both cases.

Adding to what I said earlier, there are so many interesting seeds in both the core rules and Blood on the Snow that you might forgive the system for not delivering on the in-play rules. You could potentially mash up the setup found in Hillfolk with a different light-weight resolution system, or if you feel comfortable with it, just free-form.

I was thinking about this, as well.
