I have had a chance to review the Puppetland rules, and can relate a little more information:
* There is no resolution system – it’s all based on narrative. That said, the Puppet Master can assess damage and setbacks by fiat – but if you, as a player, aren’t willing to welcome risk, there won’t be any dramatic tension, and the tale will suffer as a result. I am probably preaching to the choir here, but I thought I would let you know ahead of time.
* The rules are fairly explicit – four players, each with a different type of the four basic puppets (Marionette, Finger Puppet, Shadow Puppet, Hand Puppet), If you have one of these, you are welcome to bring them to the table, but it’s not necessary. You can use a puppet other than these types, but there are limits: no Nutcrackers, Punches or Judys, and definitely not Muppets or Claymation figures, please. Only puppets that could have been made by a German Toymaker in 1941.
*Because of the limit on the amount of players, I would welcome another Puppet Master to run another table, if there is interest.
* The game is supposed to take a strict 60 minutes, no longer. With character creation and prep, two hours, tops. Bring a card came.
