Last night we played 7th Edition Call of Cthulhu.

Last night we played 7th Edition Call of Cthulhu. I am reminded of a few old sayings: “Anything worth doing once is worth doing seven times!” and “Two in the tentacle is worth seven in my bush!” and “Seventh time’s a charm!”

Now, before this, my experience with the Cthulhuiana was rather limited. I am told it is all based on a bunch of comic books, but I wouldn’t know since I don’t read. My only experience with the Cthulhuiana is through games. So far, I have played Cthulhu Fluxx (my personal Game of the Year for 2006) and Arkham Horror. As you might imagine, given those experiences, my expectations for Call of Cthulhu’s gameplay were quite high. Well, friend, let me tell you: I was not disappointed!

My favorite part of Call of Cthulhu was when, in the first scene, we failed our roll to find the clue and everything just stopped.

I can’t wait for 8th Edition Call of Cthulhu. As they say, “If at first you don’t succeed, try at least seven more times!”

Call of Cthulhu.
