The Mouse Guard Box Set is probably one of the most beautiful RPG products ever produced. As many problems as I have with the man, Luke Crane always gets production value right. I’m excited to finally get this one to the table!

Alan Schwing Jank did Burning Wheel wrong. They immediately jumped into the more complex subsystems rather than introducing them slowly, over the course of several sessions. The basic Burning Wheel rules are pretty simple and straightforward.

I want to love BW. I’d settle for liking BW. As it is, it takes up room on my bookshelf. Mouse Guard is gorgeous, though so BW-y I don’t know if I’d ever run it.

Theron Bretz It is certainly a controversial game, and I understand why. Personally, I enjoy it a lot. I’ve run nearly 40 sessions of it. In fact, some of my best gaming memories have come from BW. That said, it’s definitely not the easiest game to get into and I don’t see myself running it again anytime soon. My tastes have moved on to lighter fare.
