Hey folks. Kerry was kind enough to shoot me an invite, so here I am. I’m Theron; I’ve been gaming for thirtymumble years now, mostly tabletop RPGs. I live in Pearland and am part of a one regular group, one currently very irregular group, and a third (at my house) that just doesn’t seem to gel.
I also run stuff at Owlcon annually. If you don’t go to Owlcon, you should. It rocks. It’s also three weeks away.
Thanks for joining, Theron. I’d agree that Owlcon generally rocks, other then the fact it seems I end up paying more for parking than I do for actual con attendance

Yeah, the parking situation sucks. My regular Tuesday group mostly consists of the non-student organizers and they hate that the University won’t give the con a break on parking.

That does suck. If I’m remembering correctly, Owlcon parking last year was more expensive than Comicpalooza parking (and it’s held at the GRB downtown). This is one of the reasons I’m really liking Space City Con: free parking.

Hey, it’s still cheaper than GenCon. 😀
I recommend carpooling, or organizing to have a group of folks park out in the stadium lot (for a dollar), then have someone shuttle them in and park in the garage, then split the cost of day parking for the one car. Gets the cost down a bit.

I had to miss Space City last year, much to my chagrin. I found myself suddenly having to buy a car that day.

I’m pretty sure I had an old 2nd ed. ranger character named Theron.

My second D&D character was named that too. I wasn’t very imaginative about names at that point.

I am running two events at OwlCon: Cyberpunk 2013 and High Frontier.

Mine are both ICONS (a neat rules-light supers system).

I don’t remember even paying for parking last year.
