Could someone take a look at this.

Could someone take a look at this.  I know I left out technology and vehicles (gonna, make those constructs) but I think this is workable.  I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has, good or bad, just be nice lol! Thanks!  Also made a character sheet for it.

Ok, just a quick update.

Ok, just a quick update.

Ok, just a quick update.  As the only Art Teacher in my high school, I’ve made it a point to introduce table top rpgs to the student body.  Now, this may seem a rather simple thing to do, however I assure you I’ve had my share of roadblocks.  That being said, students run gaming sessions using Runquest 6 (Elric of Melnibone – raiding Isle of the Purple Towns), Dungeon World (A student designed campaign set in an Ancient Wizard’s keep), Monsters and Magic (B4 The Lost City), and a Fiasco group which just finished up De’ Medici.  I have a steady group of students and most of them are not interested in the sports we have at the school, or any of the other clubs/groups – in essence they are sometimes marginalized or “the quiet ones”.  Little do people know that these are some of the most passionate and driven students I’ve had the privilege to know.  Just sharing with you all that table top rpgs are never out of style and there are still people who know that this kind of outlet for young minds is absolutely necessary.  Thanks for listening if you’ve read this far. 🙂

Are Table Top RPGs Art?

Are Table Top RPGs Art?

I would say yes.  I ask a few questions in order to qualify parts of that statement.

First, where in the timeline of gaming does it fall? (This assumes a decent amount of history, which there is.)

Second, what is the context of the game? (This assumes we can understand things about the game like setting, theme, objectives and systems, which we can)

and Thirdly, how does it relate to our human experience?  (does it make us ask questions about the world around us? or relate human emotion, experience, issues of self identity? or allow us to use our mental capacity in creative ways through interpretation, analysis, etc.)

Taking all of that into consideration, I say “Yes!” TTRPGs are definitely an artform, some are my flavor and others are not.

Just wanted to ask you to consider helping out this organization.  It’s a small group of dedicated people who help hearing and speech impaired children have normal lives.  Via Colori is the street painting event they put on each year, here in Houston, to raise funds, and I’ve been a participating artist for 9 of the 10 years they’ve been doing it.  Help make it possible for someone’s kid to have a chance at a normal life.  Thanks – peace.

Jason, I heard you mention a game I was curious about called Fiasco.

Jason, I heard you mention a game I was curious about called Fiasco. I finally took the time to research it and WOW! It’s an awesome game. I didn’t have any recourse except to recruit some unwary victims and go through the rules, and play. It was outrageous and fun. I can’t wait to play again, neither can they. Just thought I’d share that with you. It’s all your fault! LOL
