I am now slightly less behind on all my game reports.

I need to do the Divine Blood report before it flees my mind still. Though I’ll likely be doing some transcription tonight instead.

In this case we’re back to the adventures of my German Changeling bard (currently disguised as a half-elf) investigating The Catacombs in search of the goddess of secrets, Iystrx.

An invitation for collaborative, system-less world building.

Would like to have a broader chorus of voices involved.

Posted this over on Facebook but I thought I’d give it a crack here.

This maybe a long shot but I had an idea. Anyone interested in a collaborative worldbuilding kind of a thing? I’m thinking something to Hyborea and similar worlds. All humans, but heavy on the sword and sorcery and systemless.

I figure we can take suggestions and then vote on the top three or four then run with the results. This would be a massive undertaking if I did it alone, thus I ask the community.

It would be an ever growing project and essentially a living campaign. I think it would be fun and useful for those who do not want to use publish settings but find making their own world too intimidating.

What do y’all say? Any interest at all?

Conclusion to the first case of our City of Mist campaign. Kelsey’s player takes the GM seat next time. We’ve decided our opening monologue is in the voice of the character belonging to the GM saying what they heard about the case later.

Also. The unnamed Rift of Chang-e (the sleeping woman) got hit with a status 6 hit and will never sleep again unless some serious transformation happens later. Though my character doesn’t know that yet.

I need help tracking down the author of a magic item going into Codex – Blood 2. They submitted it to me at some point, but it has managed to go into the draft without their name on it, and now I can’t figure out who it came from.

The item is a tongue-shaped dagger called Nurtikwendlr.

I’m struggling to find people who run or even know burning wheel in Germany and I’m really excited about it. It seems pretty complicated though and I’m not quite getting the grip of it.

Codex Announcement

I am very pleased to announce Lauren McManamon will be joining the Codex team as a line/copy editor!

Lauren is an editor in her professional capacity and has been an active player and game runner on Gauntlet Hangouts for some time. Her first RPG publication, HGMO: Sherlock, came out in Codex – Lies, and she has a few more pieces scheduled for future release.

David LaFreniere will be taking a more active role on the content side of Codex with me, including developmental editing on new pieces. Our hope is we will be able to dedicate even more time to Codex contributors and the various games and articles that hit the zine’s pages.

Oli Jeffery is still in charge of layout.

I’m very excited about the future of Codex! Our already fantastic zine is going to get even better!

Tom McGrenery and I are pleased to present the newest episode of Fear of a Black Dragon! Our focus for this one is an adventure called “Into the Fire,” which was featured in the very first issue of Dungeon Magazine back in 1986.

This is a very important episode because Tom and I begin talking about how to convert old school modules to World of Dungeons, our system of choice on FoaBD. As such, the episode is a bit longer than normal and the timecodes are much more detailed. I think you’re going to find there is a lot of really valuable information here (and we also just have a lot of fun talking about the peccadillos of this particular module).
