Brian Holland is the Evel Knievel of Dungeon World zine creators! Even after down time forced by a terrible vehicular accident, he bounced back and managed to produce issue 6 before two zine makers who had a multiple issue head-start on him!

All this with no loss of flare! This is another issue chalk full of cool ideas and delightful tools for randomizing your adventure!

If I”m trying to introduce a group to how the hobby has changed in the last 20 years what’s a good series of games to break them in by? something to show them the width and breadth as well as the evolution ?

I recently tried Swords Without Master with someone who had last played Pathfinder and it was a step too far. I’m thinking I need to start with something a bit more structured (but can be quickly learned) and then move forward from there (+1 Forward!).

[direct offshoot of my last post but thought it better to start a new post than to bury this somewhere in the comments as a reply]

I saw that some folks here have played The Sky-blind Spire (a wonderfully odd map and adventure by +Michael Prescott), and was wondering if I could check on a couple details before I (hopefully) run it myself with Into the Odd next weekend….

So … I hope someone can tell me….

(A) Am I correct in understanding that to get to room 22, you have to climb out the window from 21 and climb down a floor to the window below? And to get to 23, same deal, out the window and down a floor?

(B) Since you have to go up the changeling cone to keep your spark, is anybody who keeps their spark necessarily shrunk by 50% for the rest of the adventure?

(C) Do you suspect this is playable in a 4-hour one shot?

Any other tips are welcome too – thanks!

Going on an 7-night Alaska cruise/family reunion with my 6 brothers. Optimistically, we’ll have a couple of hours per day of gaming + 1 8-hour session while at sea. Any recommendation for game/games?

In this session, my yuan-ti warlock got unmasked as not human (not that she was doing that great a job beforehand):

—————————————————————

“I think everyone in this party has darkvision.

Oh! wait! I didn’t say that. I am a perfectly average human person who can’t see in the dark. Someone please light a torch so I can see please.”

“Smooth.”

I also got to summon my flying snake familiar (And I really should add the image the GM found of a cute winged snake to her character sheet) and make use of her abilities in a fight.

Aside from that we had a rather painful encounter with a daemon and picked up some hints of bad things going on.

Is it assumed that games run in the community will use video and voice? Is it uncommon for people to just use voice?

Thanks to Tom McGrenery for running the game and to the excellent players: David LaFreniere Patrick and Tyler Lominack

And thanks to Fraser Simons for producing the show!

I’m also including a link to Episode 03, which I don’t think I posted last week:
