For my month of Cypher System games on the Gauntlet Hangouts, I’m running three settings including the weird ’80’s teen secret supers game Unmasked. I used pre-gens for the other games, but for this I built the characters myself. That’s helped me figure out the system. Plus I dig the nuts & bolts of superhero games.

Hiiii! I just wanted to say I’m super stoked to be on the team for Hack the Planet — Fraser Simons’ punky climate fiction game where you play folks tracking, hunting, and hacking extreme weather phenomena using the Blades system. Edit: Whoops, and it’s on kickstarter right nowwww~ Go take a look!
I had the opportunity to playtest it recently where our crew came up against a tornado that was literally on fire, that we captured to then condense into drugs. We’re thinking ‘Acid Rain’ might be a good name for it, but that’s still tbd. Either way, it was such a good time! I’m looking forward to playing more of it, and I’m really excited about some of these stretch goals that are still left to hit.

When starting a new campaign are there any recommended tools / methods for shared world building between players and GM?
I’m expect that that this is a bit of a Pandora’s box for indie games, but I come at this from an OSR perspective and am just starting to dabble with indie / story games (Dungeon World, Swords w/o Master, etc).
In the past my world building is more the result of emergent play, but now interested in establishing a collaborative foundation.
Finally I’ll say I’m not looking for something too complex or lengthy, rather something that can be run as part of session 0 in a hour or two.
