Good news from beyond the grave! My spoopy 2-player 1-shot storytelling game, Dead Friend: A Game of Necromancy, is now available as pay-what-you-want on DriveThruRPG. You each play the role of a friend, one living and one dead. The script follows the dramatic structure of a necromancy ritual, and you use Tarot cards (or regular cards) to randomize story prompts. Enjoy!

Monsterhearts: Mercy Falls ’83 runs for eleven episodes. The first three episodes will be out this week. They then release once per week after that. If you are a $2+ Patron, you have access to all the episodes right now.
Below is a link to Episode 01. It’s not exactly “pocket-sized” in the way we have previously defined it, but that’s because it is Session 0 type stuff. If you want to hear how a really nice Monsterhearts set up goes, this is a great place to look.
Thanks to all the players: Lauren McManamon Fraser Simons Philipp Neitzel Gerrit Reininghaus and Tomer Gurantz (Gerritt and Tomer enter on Episode 03). And special thanks to Fraser for putting the show together.

The deva of the Crossroads campaign leave the Center after rescuing Medi from the Ellyion revolutionaries (and then recruiting said revolutionaries). We come to Opali, a world mostly filled with small races like goblins, gnomes, halflings, and kobolds. The continent we are heading too had apparently discovered bureaucracy. This did result in a bit of Monty Python style humor but then we moved on to investigate the problem…and neatly destroyed all of my brother’s preparation by preventing a fight he thought we’d only find in the middle of happening.

Listening to We Hunt the Keepers v10 – Brothers of the Silvery Sea. The sequence where each player and the GM (Jason Cordova) give a snippet of a story was so giving and good. It’s a supreme example of how awesome DW can be. I’m inspired.

PACK OF STRAYS – now with an updated one-sheet version!
The text now mostly matches the version of the game in Codex – Beasts. It’s also featuring the new title design by Oli Jeffery and an illustration by Claudia Cangini. You’ll still want to get the Codex – Beasts version if you love the game, because it has amazing illustrations by Jesse Ross, the Mercy Falls setting by Jason Cordova, the Gauntlet City setting by Richard Rogers (& many other Guantleteers), as well as a full CATS introduction to the game.
You’ll also notice mention of having a “scratch”. That’s for the Codex – Moonlight version of the game, PACK OF STRAYS: WOLF RUN, coming May 1st!
Thanks again to everyone who has helped get Pack of Strays out into the world.
Alford’s captured by Alderman, and he’s just discovered that the man he killed was not the King after all… so who was he? How long before Inquisitor O’Brien finds them? And how many souls will Wyrmblight claim this night?
Thanks to Robert Bullen for playing Alford to the hilt and editing the second half of the season, thanks to Michael G. Barford for his witty show notes, and thanks to Jason Cordova, David LaFreniere and Richard Rogers for developing the Comic Strip AP format and hosting. It’s been a blast.
