I’m curious.

I’m curious.

I’m curious. We have a lot of game designers who are part of this community. Would it be helpful to have GM’s who are willing to take the work in progress and put it through it’s paces? Would it be a help to see someone run your game(perhaps with you playing) during your process? I don’t design, but I’d happily road test what more creative minds produce. Is this something that would be useful?Anyone interested in this?

  1. I’d run anything someone gives me the tools for. Over the years I’ve run about every genre. It’s just putting together 3 or 4 players to try the game out over 1 or 2 sessions. Hopefully the designer could be there to facilitate or play. This seem like something interesting to put on the calendar twice a month?

  3. Would you be interested in a preview of series of ‘zines focused on Lamentations of the Flame Princess with several house-rules and materials (incl. adventure generation)?

I know often the Gauntlet-eers focus more on PbtA/Story-games but I know there is interest also for the OSR and maybe this could interest you.

(me.. I love them both.. wouldn’t do without my OSR campaigns neither without PbtA/Story-games)

  5. As is evident from this thread, finding play-testers is a huge hurdle for most indie game designers, so I can picture Tyler Lominack getting buried under an avalanche of offered games. 😉

Remember to take the proper safety precautions! 😉

  7. I enjoy running and playing in playtests, many of which we have set up through the Gauntlet Slack #need_players channel. Are the game designers from this thread on that chanel?

  9. Emmett O’Brian It’s one if the benefits of a Gauntlet Patreon subscription, although I forget at which level ($3/month?). There is also a design channel where designers of all experience levels talk shop.

  11. Wow, this was a heck of a response. Let me look at scheduling and I’ll look at trying to put together a series of playtest games after the Con. Something that can stretch your games legs and provide some feedback you can work with.

  15. Aaron DeRosa, good for you! Sounds like we grew up about the same time. You have found a wonderful place to connect to the hobby. Gauntlet has the nicest, most supportive players I have ever encountered. Jump in some games and start having fun:)
