For Free RPG Day on Saturday, we had five tables of games: Dungeon World, Monster Hearts, Fiasco, Inspectors, and Blades in the Dark.

Here are some pics of the event and the people who played in the games. Most of these were people who showed up to see what Dragons Lair was giving out, and then stayed to find out about what these types of games are all about.

I really enjoy getting the word out to the gaming hobby about how diverse and cool games can be, and I’m glad that we were able to get this many people together for these games.

I wanted to thank Daniel Fowler  Terra C  Mark Nau  Steve Mains, and  Nathan Black  for running the games, and for making the day most excellent!

  1. Jason Cordova Yeah, about eight years ago, we had a regular “Games on Demand” table (In a Wicked Age, Fiasco, Dogs, Agon, etc.) on Wednesdays at Dragons Lair, but it lasted a year or two before interest waned.

Back then, I found that a number of “special events” per year was more successful in sustaining a table.

At present, it appears that there is a lot of interest in starting a group, and the timing looks better–with all the new people and interest in the hobby. And I’m looking forward to it!
