T.S.

T.S.

T.S. Elliot may have named April the cruelest month, but for Gauntlet Houston, May has squeezed us with it’s cold grip.

On Friday 13th, we held a farewell to our comrades Steve Mains and Daniel Lewis, as their paths take them from the mother-ship into the wider world. They shall be missed, and yet we look forward to their stories of success, as they go forward to found new Gauntlets, and spread the joy of gaming to their new communities. Godspeed gentlemen, we wish you well.

With their passing, the torch of Houston Gauntlet falls to the newer membership, myself included in that group, to plan, host, and grow the group. I won’t lie, the potential for failure scares me, and I worry that my efforts will lead to it’s disbandment.

But even amid the worry, I have hope. Steve Mains was able to wrap up the final Imperial Assault campaign, as well as join the Friday sessions of Masks, where his actions will linger for the rest of the game. Daniel Lewis was able to join us for our latest session of “The Final Girl” which we can now direct people to buy from DriveThru! Kristen D  has debuted her GM career with “Kobolds Ate My Baby”, and I’ve already been approached by others interested in running their own games!

The times may be a changing, but I think our outlook is fairly bright! Thanks to Jess Scott, Scott Owen, Aaron Wilkinson, Fred Uhlmann, parrish warren, Anne Warren, Shaye Horwitz  +Andrew Kolb, +Christopher Brewer, +aaron mosley, +Kevin Whitaker, and +James Merlott for coming out to play and to enjoy!

  1. You guys will do great! Just keep putting games on the calendar, and execute, execute, execute. You have good GMs, dependable players, and a very powerful, visible Meetup page. Everything is going to be just fine.
