  1. Trey Palmer The best thing to do is create an event and then invite the community. Or, Kerry Harrison might be willing to put it on the Friday Night roster (although I think we’re already booked until May).

  3. I think I will.I’ll get the beta document on to google drive, figure out a date, time and location and work from there.

Can any of you suggest a place that has a decent public venue for gaming?

  5. Sorry, Trey Palmer, I’ve got nothing for that area.

I’ve ran public venue gaming events in Katy, Galleria, West U, Copperfield, Cy-Fair, and Alief areas of town before mostly using restaurants as the venue.

Of the chain restaurants used I’ve had the most luck with Denny’s and Cafe Express, but have held events at pizza parlors, tex-mex places, chinese buffets, sandwich shops, pubs, etc.

Generally I’ll find an area I’m interested in hosting an event in, figure out what day of the week would work best for my schedule, then scope out potential venues on that day of the and around the timeframe of the event and see if any look like they have potential, then I talk to management and see if some kind of deal can be worked out.

Other possibilities are places like some of the high-end Kroger’s supermarkets – some of them have community space (usually near the snack bar/coffee shop areas) available on a first come first serve basis (I’ve used the West U and Gray St Kroger’s as game event venues in the past).
